Lulu.com lays off 2 dozen workers (including president)

by | Oct 9, 2008 | Announcements, News, Contests and Giveaways | 0 comments

Right on the heels of eBay’s layoff news, publishing company Lulu.com is laying off 24 workers in their North Carolina office because of the slowing economy. One of those let go includes the company president, Bryce Boothby Jr who was only hired last year.

The few reports on this story that I could find in mainstream media claim that founder Bob Young is taking a more active day to day role in the company and that severance packages will be offered to the departing employees. The company is also planning on changing offices in the new year.

I cannot say that this new surprises me after the announcement the other day about prices changing, but I have a lot of friends at that company that I am wishing the best right now.
