eBay Accounting Assistant is being retired on June 30th, 2010. You can read the full announcement here.
If you are a regular reader, this shouldn’t come as a surprise. eBay teased a new version of Accounting Assistant for months and then never really delivered, giving us a busted sometimes working beta version for a few weeks before killing it entirely. eBay recommend the free app Outright. I’ve been pleased with how many of these new apps work on eBay so I was eager to try it out. I installed it earlier today and just went back to try it out now. I was feeling pretty optimistic. Maybe it would be more reliable and a better program than Accounting Assistant ever was!
Oh, this doesn’t bode well.

I ran into that problem as well.. seems it happens when you try to add a second eBay account (at least that was my problem).
Outright can fix it for you .. but on an exception basis.
Let me know if that is your problem and I'll send you the email address of the Outright person who can fix it.

Lucky us! How often is it that someone wants to share their opinion of a service and it just so happens to be one of the rare occasions when a server is offline. I hope your experience doesn't speak too ill of your impression of Outright! The site was down for a few users, for just a few minutes.

On another note, Tom is alluding to a different challenge with the App, Outright is only designed for one eBay account so trying to add another will cause problems. Hillary, your experience was just bad luck and bad timing.

With regard to the “different challenge”… I hope you are looking at solving this for everyone… I think you'll find there are a whole lot of eBay'ers who sell on more than one eBay ID.

Tom, rest assured, the need is on the roadmap. Unfortunately it takes some reworking to make it possible, it's not as easy as a fix or minor change, so it will take some time.

I've done a straw poll of our users and you are the only person lucky enough to have this happen: About 40 minutes ago we updated the service so it was down for about a minute. Sign up at Outright.com instead of through the app and I'll be sure to reward your profile promoting your store and sites with an “Early Adopter” badge for weathering our hiccups with us!
Last time I looked Outright only worked for sole proprietorships so if you use a different organizational form you're out of luck.
There are a couple of other ways to import to Quickbooks. Simple Port http://www.simpleport.net/ is a web based service which converts your paypal history file to a .qif file. Simple port is a paid subscription. Big Red Consulting http://www.bigredconsulting.com/ makes an excel plugin that imports from either ebay or paypal.

But since I have a few more weeks of Accounting Assistant I won't bother them yet, see if they fix it on their own.
