What does consignment mean?

The terms consignment by itself means either the actual goods being sold or the act of sending something to someone to have it sold. The phrase “on consignment” usually refers to a deal in which a seller only pays for items that sell and may return any unsold items to the original owner. This describes the typical relationship between the SA and the client.
