Exactly one year ago today, I cut out the middle man and started selling advertising on this site. (Well, I still have Google and Amazon Associate ads. I guess those are middle men.) A year later, I gave two ad spots away as prizes, donated much of the ad revenue to various causes important to me and have been very pleased with the response. The whole thing was really just an experiment in additional revenue streams and I’ve been very pleased with how it’s gone.

How am I doing it? I’m using the AdRotate WordPress Plugin to run the ads and a free Vendio store to sell the ads.

Because I limit the number of ads on the site at a time to increase the value for advertisers, I limit the number of spots I sell. As of my writing this, the site is only four ad spaces away from being completely sold out which just blows me away! If you want to grab those spots before they are gone, you can do so here. I won’t be restocking until some of the existing ads run their course so it may be a while before there are new spots available. I keep wanting to offer a discount for readers but there aren’t enough spots in stock at any given moment to make it worth it which is a good problem to have! čÖé

I’m still experimenting with this feature but I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of the wonderful advertisers that supported this site during this first year! Please support their sites and services below. (If an advertiser has multiple spots for the same service, I just showed one below.)

And, as always, thank you so much for commenting, sharing and, most of all, reading!
