Before we leave this topic, I have to talk one more time about the site offering the free download of Beyond Amazon, eBay, and Etsy I blogged about over here: Gray area: my eBook piracy moral dilemma. Because there’s a delicious little bit of irony on their page for the book that I just have to point out to you.

Did you spot it?

Let me highlight it for you.

They’ve got a Copyscape badge on their site asking visitors not to copy their content. According to their website, “Copyscape is dedicated to protecting your valuable content online.” They offer resources and defenses to combat plagiarism and content theft.

So of course a site the entire content of which is stolen from other people would proudly display that badge. The stole this stuff fair and square, you guys! It just wouldn’t be fair for you to steal it again from them! Protecting content from theft is very important to them and they want you to know that it’s WRONG to take what’s on their website and claim it as your own… because that’s their shtick, damn it!

You just can’t make this stuff up…
