New look for blog & series, more excerpts coming & future audio / video plans

Some quick housekeeping updates for you all…

  • When I redid this site in 2014, I knew it was a temporary thing because I wasn’t entirely happy with the new theme but needed to make the site mobile responsive. You’ll notice I’ve recently moved the site over to a another new theme that should be just as responsive, if not more so, but that I like a lot better. I’m still tweaking things so, please let me know if you notice anything wonky so that I can fit it!
  • I’ve changed how series show up on the site, specifically how I blog my books. Look at this post about Sell Their Stuff as an example. Just click the little blurb at the top to see the full table of contents of the whole series and click it again to make it shrink. It’s a much cleaner and simpler way to organize the posts and browse the whole series.
  • Speaking of my eBook excerpts, I’ve been a bit of a miser with them because I didn’t want to run out of pre-made content in case I got very busy all of a sudden and couldn’t keep the blog active but I’ve come to realize that is really silly. To that end, I’m going to try to get the entire rest of Sell Their Stuff and eBay Marketing Makeover scheduled so that there should never been a week without a post on here and just bump the schedule when I have something else in mind.
  • Lastly, I want to increase the amount of audio and video content I get out this year because people keep asking for it but I’ll need your help with that as it’s time consuming and, as discussed, I have to focus on what makes income with what little time i have. I’m leaning towards doing some kind of crowdfunding such as Patreon (though you know how I hate a middle man so I’d really prefer to find a way to do it myself directly) so that I’m not wasting my time making something there’s no demand for. This way, if people want more of that sort of content, I’ll know and be able to produce accordingly. I could set up something where, for example, a “thing” would be an hour of audio so people would only be billed their .99 cents or whatever once I get that much out and if we reach a milestone number of patrons I could increase that to include other freebies and bonuses to members like videos, copies of my eBooks and more. I’m still figuring it out so, if you have a suggestion, go for it! It just comes down to me not having a lot of time to waste on something that isn’t going to make money so I love the idea that people only need to pay for content I actually produce, but it’s still not a perfect solution.

Meanwhile, on the fiction side of my life, I’ve been very busy and have a bunch of new plays out if you want to check them out.

As always, thank you for reading, commenting, sharing and, well, being here!
