I was away at eBay On Location from Tuesday of last week until late Monday and I came home to not only the usual mountain of work but also another unexpected crisis so please forgive me, I’m insanely behind on everything.
I owe you several blog posts, including a review of eBayOL but, for now, I wanted to give you this little three for one post of quickies.
- For a limited time only, authors that publish an eBook on Lulu will get 90% of the revenue. Considering that most platforms only give authors 30%, this is HUGE! if you ever thought about publishing an eBook, now may be the time to take advantage of this amazing offer. Read more on the Lulu Blog here: Earn More. 90% Revenue for a Limited Time.
- At eBay OL, they teased that new television commercials would be coming soon and the eBay Ink Blog has a first look at three of these new spots. Preview them before they hit your TV and learn more about this new ad campaign here: eBay Launches Integrated Advertising Campaign for 2011 Holiday season. Me? I think they are stupid but I’m also the only person who liked the “Whatever IT is, you can find IT on eBay” campaign so who asked me, right?
- I shared this one on my Facebook Page earlier today but I thought this little screenshot of someone’s feedback would give you a chuckle.

We loved eBay’s “it” campaign, too! In addition to the playing cards from eBay Live!, stickers, print ads, and the plush pink “it”, I collected dangle earrings of the “it” logo; a gold pendant of the “it’ logo, a custom-made doll outfit version of the “it” dress worn by the model in the commercials; an “it” tiara just like in the commercials; and even an “it” ring, ditto. Love ’em! And you just can’t beat the theme song…nor Davy Jones’ surprise appearance at eBay Live! 2006 in Las Vegas. He was quick to don the “it” T-shirt that was tossed to him, too!
I loved the simplicity of that IT campaign. It was just so true. You can find anything on eBay and it really drove it home. I never understood why people didn’t like it. To me, it was perfect.
